I went to best buy and picked up a 120GB Playstation 3. I also bought a 2 year warranty just in case.. reason? Well because my 60GB MODEL received the YLOD, and there went my PS3 (I even tried fixing it and nothing worked).In any case, I decided to call sony consumer services, and after waiting 15 mother Freakin minutes, I asked the question "Can you deactivate the 60gb console from every account that is on it?" and the guy responded saying "No you should be able to connect the account to your new ps3", but then I said "thats nice, but I still want the console deactivated, since its useless and I may need that space.." and guess what the dude told me " No I cant sorry good bye"....................................

So Ive sent a complaint to Sony consumer services, and asked if THEY could deactivate both accounts from my 60GB, if they cant then.. I feel sorry for my friend.

In any case, the PS3 slim is extreemly quiet its like there;s nothing there, its very small compared to the PS3, and its very small in general, the buttons glow in the dark (thats awsome), and the look is great, I personally love the look, its compact and black, its nicer than that grill cough 60GB I had, just a personal opinion (never look at pics they wil lmake something look much better or worse than it actually is).

I'm confused, what purpose does canceling the accounts on your old PS3 have?

Maybe he was worried about people stealing information?

I assume since you can connect any hard drive to the PS3 you can connect the PS3 hard drive to a PC and just format it a few times.

Not canceling the accounts, but De activating the console from the accounts, you see if you have 5 consoles activated for your account, guess what? If your ps3 breaks, that account is useless, and you lose every thing you bought and all the trophies you earned with that account (since you cant use that account on more than 5 ps3s)

Speaking of Hard drives, the HDD for the 120gb PS3 slim is different (the casing of the HDD) than the 60gb's. So you cant just put it in side the console and be done with it, you will have to get the proper casing to fix the HDD into the slot it goes in, on the ps3 slim.
