Forums - Sony - Guitar Hero 5 running at 480SD?!

Yeah - you read it correctly. So I got GH5 and put it into the PS3 last night. And when it started, the TV jumped. Hit the guide button on my TV and ... it read '480SD.' WTF?!

Anyone else have this game and get this? If so, the box reads 720P and my TV does 1080P over an HDMI cable.

What, son, what? New York, New York!!!

not really good if it claims it runs at 720p on the back of the box

but does it really matter in a game like GH5? I don't thinks o

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

So then I suppose the next step here is to go to the video settings and see the resolutions of your PS3.

That's the highest possible upscale resolution on the PS3.

Doesn't say anything about the true rendering resolution.

Will check gaf to investigate this matter further.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

No, seriously - I expected at least 720P, but got 480P. And my PS3 is set to 1080P. Anyone have any clues?

You gotta check off 720p in your video settings. If you only check off 1080p, and the game doesn't support it - it drops to the lowest common denominator. (480p for HDMI)
