It took me a good 5 hours or so to really get into Prime 1 the first time round. After that I fell in love with it and it's one of my favourite games. In fact, it's probably joint favourite of all time.

I'm not trying to bash anyones opinions, really. I just have weird tastes. I would play Zelda Link to the Past over OOT 100 times out of 100. I would play FF4 over FF7 100 times out of 100, I would play MGS over MGS4 100 times out of 100. I would play Super Mario World over SMG. . . you get the point.

so i should expect to be mad for 5 hours and as soon as the its 5 hours (not a second off) i should sart to love it????lol

Not quite. After the opening section don't expect to get it straight away... You'll enjoy yourself, but you won't think the game is spectacular. I don't want to give anything away really, there were a couple of points in the game (a few hours in) that made me realise I was playing something special.

It was like going to Hyrule Field the first time on OOT, but Prime just took a little longer to get to that moment.

At least, that's how it was for me.

I am about pretty far into Prime 1 now, just got the grapple beam. I was annoyed with the mechanism for switching visors and guns in the beginning too, and you do make mistakes. (But I did mistakes sometimes with the GC switching as well, tho not that many).

But, it does kind of grow on you, so it's not all bad. And the presentation is beautiful, the new lighting system is amazing. Also, remember that you can still use traditional lock-on, you don't HAVE TO use the free aim lock-on option. Myself I turn it off sometimes, especially with small enemies, since sometimes it's just easier to tap the lock on and kill all the enemies rather than trying to aim.

But the game hasn't aged well? That's bs. If this had been the first time the game had been released, I would still have been blown away. As far as I'm concerned, Prime 1 is in the top 10 of alltime best games, on any platform, maybe even top 5.

Just got done getting the charge beam (Which means I already have the morph ball and missiles) and the game has started to grow on me again. I mean I had to save it and turn it off for life got in the way, and I was disappointed that I had to leave the game. So, maybe I jumped the gun in my original post. :-[
