I can't really say for sure who's scared by PS3 Slim, but I can say who aren't: Wii and PC gamers.

Y'know I've had a look through and I think it's odd that many don't seem to view the simple fact that the PS3 is smaller... as a feature. Personally the simple fact that it's smaller gives me much more incentive to purchase than other OS support. Not to mention consumes less power is an asset and arguably a feature too...

Its not hating on the slim to say it lacks compared to the fats, it is after all a budget model. The 40GB was the same way, cheaper price for less features.

The 40GB took out backwards compatibility, two USB ports, and flash card readers.

The Slim takes out Linux support.

Do you see the difference?

The way some people here are harping on the fact that they took out Linux support you would think that they took out some major features.

It's cool though, now that the price is right and Sony is finally ramping up its advertising we should just let the PS3 sales do all the talking.
