Could be a bad thing or a good thing then. Next week might see a increase or it might level off then eventually drop. Even with week 0 LBP the real week 1 wasn't that large in comparison. 70k is pretty good in America though if it hasn't been released to all retailers yet considering Ps3 has struggled to get 100k ww past month.

Yeah but just like LBP, I think it's gonna sell mostly during christmas.
Great events such as Black Market for US, boxing day for CA...etc

85% boost is great performance, especially when you consider that ioi is expecting continued growth the following (due to wider release). The interesting part will then be the rest of September for all 3 consoles as that will likely determine who wins the holidays.
360 has a decent boost as well thanks to its price cut.
Wii not doomed but it certainly has a fight on its hands just to win the NPDs and this holiday, forget about 50% market share for a while (assuming they don't drop price or do anything special except releasing games).
Let the fun begin!!

i wouldnt want a black market ps3... but thats just me.
While the Slim wasn't released until the 1st the price cut was immediate. So a lot of people seem to be saying that a price cut alone wasn't enough for Sony, they also needed a new model to compete.
Shortages notwithstanding of course.

good number, and we now the rest, halo month + COD month on xbox 360
actually xbox 360 sales is far so good
i predict 2010, will be the year of xbox 360+ as already predicted
360 with bigger HD + bigger internal memory, and marginal improvement on gpu & mb design.
and remember the forward compatible.
so want cheap xbox buy xbox 360 elite or arcade
want better resolution & frame rate and 16xAA then buy 360+
it is forward compatible.
