Forums - Nintendo - Nostalgia to be The Best JRPG of the Year also One of the Greatest Ever!

I was reading the latest issue of Play Magazine (the one with the Muramasa cover), and in this issue Dave Halverson previews Nostalgia for DS from Tecmo.  He says there is no doubt that people are going to look back upon Nostalgia in the future as favorably as people look back upon Grandia, Final Fantasy VII, Skies of Arcadia, and Wild Arms now.  If true, I think Nostalgia is destined to be jrpg of the year as well as one of the Greatest of All Time!

I think Nostalgia launches in the US on October 20th from Ignition Software.  :)

Wow, I didn't realize it was releasing so soon. That trailer is hot!

it looks good but saying it might be the best jrpg of the year might be going overboard

That looks awesome, it feels like final fantasy at some points but without the fantasy style.

yea i agree. This is the first time ive heard of this game and im a hardcore RPG fan here. So clearlly very little advertising went into this game therefore making it into that catagory is highly unlikely. I expect this to be in the best game that no one played catagory sorry but true =(

The art in this game reminds me of the Wild Arms series so much. For those of you who might not remember what it is, this game was called Wind of Nostalgia in the Japanese release. I don't know about best Jrpg this year though, especially when I got to play Dragon Quest IX, but it looks like it will be up there.

Edit: If you guys followed RPGs a lot like you say, you would know about this game. I knew about it since about a year ago when it was announced for Japan.

oh wait this was announced back in 2008. Yea i didnt have a DS at the time thats probably why i didnt no about it lol

Not only was it announced then it was released in japan I believe october or november of 2008(too lazy to check.)

Considering FF IV DS released this year, I rather doubt that!

Moreover, while I'm personally interested in the game, I believe it was a major flop in Japan. Considering its a handheld RPG, I find that worrisome. Does anyone know the reason behind this?
