Sad, this game looks like an uncharted rival! ... why did this halt for again? |
That's probably why right there. Why release two games that are eerily similar to each other? And considering Team Soho's past work, it makes sense that Sony went with Naughty Dog and Uncharted between the two.
In the end, the game was probably canceled for a mix of three reasons - 1. It looked like Uncharted: Los Angeles, 2. Sony has way too many shooters coming from its internal studios, and 3. Sony London are hard at work on Home, SingStar, EyePet, and other PS Eye titles (probably some stuff to use with the Wand), and Sony figured resources would be better spent on these projects instead.
However, I'm hoping production was merely frozen for the time being, with the possibility of Sony London returning to the project at a later date. Of course, putting a game on hold for a couple of years and then returning to it can fuck up development. Instead of taking a creative hook and running with it, you have to try and get back into your groove after a long break, and sometimes it just doesn't happen. Just look at other games that were put on hold for long periods of time, like Too Human.

Mhm, well in that case its a good thing then. what was wrong with the devs history?
And yeah now that you put it that way PS3 has WAY to many shooters on the way and that are alreayd here, so them working on Home and Eyepet is worth let, it shows variation instead of barbareic shooting freaks.
In the end Innovation is the key VS popular demand even though both are good and fair its worth it to try other things then to make one genre an monopoly... we dont need anymore shooters tbh we need more... versatility.

They weren't really bad per se. They just don't have the track record of somebody like Naughty Dog. The Getaway 1/2 weren't recieved all that well anywhere outside of the UK, and scored in the 7s.
However, Eight Days was more a collaboration between Team Soho and Team Camden, as the two were bunched together a few years back. The Getaway 3 was supposed to be the last game to use the Soho label, before it too was canceled.
