PS3: 300,000,000 LIFETIME

I DREAM BIG

Not sure if it was answered yet, but even those who buy the game used are entitled to the Joker DLC. It is free on PSN.

I just got the game in from Gamefly today and just downloaded the Joker DLC from PSN.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

I'd argue pre-orders are less reliable for this game than some other games because a licensed game tends to draw more casual buys than something only the hardcore know about in advance. I think that between that and the positive reviews, this game will have strong legs through the holidays. And the 360 version will sell more lifetime than PS3 because of the legs and install base.

People said that about Resident Evil 5, and that didn't happen.

I'm not saying it's impossbe but "legs and install base" don't always guarantee victory...

As someone else said, that's because of Japan - a Japanese game linked historically on the Japanese console - versus this very Western game.

But the legs are different here, I think.  Resident Evil pretty much followed the trend of selling the vast majority of its units in the first three weeks.  I think Batman's going to hang around a bit longer than that and sell well through the holidays.  And the fact that it's a game that will sell well on the shelf - mom and new gamer sees Batman and knows what that is right away, and that's a plus for 360 still, where there are more of those gamers than on PS3, though the price cuts might help.

Can't we all just get along and play our games in peace?

At this point, it's all speculation anyway. I usually wouldn't count on the PS3 version winning multiplatform battles. In this case however, I believe it will. The Joker + Batcave in HOME on the PS3 version has/will sway people I think.

Rememeber, for every time people say: "that's because of Japan", what if the shoe was on the other foot, and others said: "that's because of America" (in reference to the 360)? It would implicate the same thing. However, it doesn't matter what territory is responsible for the #s, every territory is, thankfully, relevant.

There will be times that the PS3 version of games outsell their 360 counterparts, it's just the way it is.

Well it matters because we were discussing how THIS game is going to sell and someone compared it to RE5, and we were pointing out that their sales will likely behave differently.  No one is saying Japan doesn't matter.  And no one said it's a BAD thing if PS3 sells more.  And it's a significant thing when the PS3 version does outsell, just on numbers of users and its rarity.   Relax, no one's criticizing your precious PS3.

I didn't know PS3 has exclusive DLC for this game? what is it and what does it contain?

And yeah, I would guess that the ps3 version will sell more than the 360 version in this case, not sure why exactly (maybe the dlc?).

Playable Joker levels, if I'm not mistaken.

I thought that was on the disc...if it's DLC...Epic Fail...

Uummm, why?

Ok..let me clear it up a it..It's a free DLC...No problem....If it's not...I want my Boycott...People had a fit over RE5...why not this?

The DLC is free i believe there is a code in the box so you only get the DLC if you buy it new. Can anyone who has bought this confirm it.

The Joker challenge rooms are free.  You get a one-time code to download.  You need to unlock each challenge room in game to be able to use the joker with them.  Also, I bought it from Gamestop.  They offered exclusive Scarecrow levels as well.  Not sure if the Scarecrow levels are exclusive to the PS3 as well.  The challenge rooms include leaderboards and really improve the games replayability.

Week 1

PS3 -> 189,312

360 -> 189,312

Thanks for the input, Jeff.

Just finished the game....it was delivered early.

Very good. Highly playable and I must say one of the most beautiful games on the 360 Ive seen.

The bump mapping on character in the last level is jaw dropping.

Nearly everyone is so pessimistic, it is going to sell at least 200k on each platform in the US alone
