I'd argue pre-orders are less reliable for this game than some other games because a licensed game tends to draw more casual buys than something only the hardcore know about in advance. I think that between that and the positive reviews, this game will have strong legs through the holidays. And the 360 version will sell more lifetime than PS3 because of the legs and install base.

People said that about Resident Evil 5, and that didn't happen.

I'm not saying it's impossbe but "legs and install base" don't always guarantee victory...

As someone else said, that's because of Japan - a Japanese game linked historically on the Japanese console - versus this very Western game.

But the legs are different here, I think.  Resident Evil pretty much followed the trend of selling the vast majority of its units in the first three weeks.  I think Batman's going to hang around a bit longer than that and sell well through the holidays.  And the fact that it's a game that will sell well on the shelf - mom and new gamer sees Batman and knows what that is right away, and that's a plus for 360 still, where there are more of those gamers than on PS3, though the price cuts might help.

Can't we all just get along and play our games in peace?
