There are several other creepy characters in FF games, but broken down, Locke is by far one of the most dimented ones.

This was an awesome game but I had to import a USA SNES copy as it was never officially released in Europe till much later on the psone..

and probably my favourite FF game ever mostly because nearly all the characters were just kick ass!! especially Terra and Celes

FF7 was the start of the ruination of FF games for me. I've not liked the series since.

I agree with the OP, FF6 was by far the most memorable to me.

Someone sad this some day: "FF6 had the greatest villain in any FF game, Kefka wasn't only pure evil, he was batshit insane, he had no idea what he was doing, and he completely destroyed the world so he could rule over the chaos. He had no dream of a new better world, he didn't even care that the world was his, he just wanted the world to match the inside of his head. It was great."

Kefka is genial, by far the best villain ever created for a FF.
And sound? Haaaa... the sound... no other FF arrived at the feet.
Battle system... aaaaa... I could play for the rest of my life.
And the characters that do the other FF's characters seem empty.

Yeah, i also like FF6 more than FF7. FF7 is a landmark in gaming for what it meant (rise of the psx, gorgeous fmv and backgrounds, etc), but that same status has made people look at it with "pink glasses", it's a good rpg, but there are better ones.

ff6 is a great game . im lucky to hav a as new ps1 copy complete with ffx demo.

Completely disagree. I'm a huge fan of the series. FFVI comes third or fourth. Here's a list, please don't shut it down unless you've played every game we are talking about:

1 - FFVII
2 - FFXII
3 - FFVI
4 - FFX

Sometimes I think X is better, sometimes I think VI. They are both amazing. However, one thing is certain, FFVII cleans the floor with both of them.

What was the first FF that you played? Just out of curiosity.

IV on SNES. It goes without mentioning that I have beat every game in the series though. IV is still easily one of the best RPG's ever made.

If you are asking because of the lack of representation from the older games on that list, it may be because the old ones have become somewhat dated in my head (it's been yeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaars since I played the first Final Fantasy). The remakes for DS deffinitley reminded me of the good old days though.
