i liked all the halos, but didnt like all the metroids

But clearly Halo 3 was terrible.... otherwise why isn't there a Halo 4

there is Reach...which should be its equivalent.   there is also odst coming out in sept.  if they end up making an actual numbered "4", it will likely be a launch title for the next xbox.

I was mocking you MrBubbles for your silly assumption that after a trilogy has ended Nintendo should continue along the same path. And that somehow Nintendo making a non-prime metroid game means they admit MP3 was bad.

I have already witnessed 2-3 people since reponding to you that have claimed MP3 the best of the Prime and or Metroid games in total.

i didnt comment about a continuation of the Prime series.   a sub-series can end and continue with similar style and gameplay.

regarding your second comment...

"Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities."

"They were so strong in their beliefs that there came a time when it hardly mattered what exactly those beliefs were; they all fused into a single stubbornness."

"The object of life is not to be on the side of the majority, but to escape finding oneself in the ranks of the insane"

that last one may not really be fully applicable since i dont think thats a view of the majority.

You are calling me stubborn? (via quote)

I am the one saying that MP3 is liked, sometimes more, sometimes less, sometimes equally with the other Prime games. You implied it was terrible as a blanket statement for all as if you know better than everyone.

YOU thought the game was terrible, YOU are not alone that is true, but you are certainly in the minority.

I dislike them both...

I'd say Metroid for Single player, Halo for multiplayer...

If I had to pick one... I'll say... Metroid I guess...

4 ≈ One

The fact that Halo has co-op is far enough for me to say it's better.

How would you put co-op in a metroid game?

@OP This post is why I prefer not to compare games from different genres.  They are NOT comparable and shouldn't be compared. If I were to choose the series that I liked more, it would be the Prime series, but that is were any comparison should stop. If you wonder why I say they are different genre's, let's not talk about perspective and look at core gameplay. What is the core gameplay of halo? Shooting. What is the core gameplay of Metroid? Puzzles and Adventure. They may be in the same perspective, but as long as the core gameplay of both series are what I mentioned they are in different genres. Therefore Metroid Prime is a First Person Action Adventure, while Halo is a first person Action game, or to be more specific First Person Shooter.

Does it matter ?

Prime shits all over halo for Single player.

Halo shits all over prime for online/co-op/multiplayer.

Unfair comparison.

for single player it's easily Metroid Prime. It has an extrememly deep yet subtle story that requires the player to search for it via scanning the environment and piecing it all together. It has better pacing and much better atmosphere than the Halo series and is much more unique with it's beam and visor system and also the morph ball puzzles.

If you like games for their multiplayer mode though, then Halo is the clear winner as Metroid has never been about multiplayer. In the end Metroid Prime comes out a clear winner for me.

Metroid Prime is the best game of all time, automatically lending the better status to that trilogy.  Nothing against Halo at all (it's definitely one of the better "pure" FPSes i've played, especially for multiplayer), but it can't stand up.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Metroid Prime is the better trilogy. I got nothing against Halo but the Prime series is fantastic.

"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."

"The so-called "hardcore" gamer is a marketing brainwashed, innovation shunting, self-righteous idiot who pays videogame makers far too much money than what is delivered."
