Forums - Microsoft - Further reason to believe the 360's sales are inflated due to RROD.

I know a bunch of people who have had RROD and not a single one bought a new console. They got them repaired.

Like badgenome just mentioned though, the same blogger has gone through 3 PS3's also. What do we do with that bit of info?

Oh, I was talking about this guy.

Lol, now all we need is someone to post a video response titled.. "I have 360, 360's."

Holy... thats alot of PS3's in one house-hold...

Lol not as much as the video I just found. Only 230,000 Ps3 owners confirmed?

Ignoring all the sarcasm you guys are injecting into the thread, you guys seem to forget that the 360 has such a high failure rate, yet people still buy them repeatedly. PS3s fail, hell even Wiis fail, and there are those that would buy those consoles all over again. But they are few and far between.

The 360 was reported at 33% when it first came out and apparently over 50% according to Game Informer. I know that this one instance doesn't mean it happens for everyone, but I myself have too seen friends who will buy another 360 no matter what happens. And with such a high failure rate, coupled with people who will buy a 360 no matter what.....you have to "surmise" that the numbers are inflated a great deal more than the PS3, Wii, and even the PS2

I think its obvious that a lot of 360's bought have been replacements.

But then again... the same can be said for probably any console.

Can we count the consoles that haven't been bought because people say they are too afraid of RRoD? How about that over-30% of Japanese people who said they haven't bought a 360 because of its faulty hardware?

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

But what happens to those failed 360s when someone buys a new console? Generally, they are not being thrown in the garbage. At worst, they're being kept as spares. Otherwise, they're being sold or traded in. The numbers shouldn't be massively distorted.

So if it's inflated can we take off 30 percent of all PS3 number after the Slim release?

@ OP my xbox 360 hasn't had any problems since I've had it

@ oxnymeth neither did my PS2. Had it from launch till 2007 when I got PS3

I guess I'm lucky..
