I agree with that statement, but that is mostly the fault of the third parties at large. Nintendo did their part by creating a system with a large userbase, and won this generation with the entire deck stacked against them. Third parties responded by treating the Wii as a shovelware dumping ground.
As for the non-HDness of the Wii, graphical quality is a means to an end, not an end unto itself. I agree that the rest can be seen as negatives.
