The way the WWE treats the secondary titles is one of the dumbest things I've seen in wrestling. It's straight-up stupidity to devalue your own roster just to keep putting over the top guys, never mind titles that should carry some meaning. I remember when Albert Del Rio was just barely hanging on to the main event picture, like he was the third guy in line or some such and they didn't seem to know what to do with him, so they had him squash the IC title-holder in a non-title match, like the belt wasn't even worth his time. I was so pissed off by that. It's just stupid, there is no better word for it. It makes the title meaningless.

Yeah, I know I've mentioned this before, but New Japan has THREE secondary titles that hold great value. Their IC belt is held by one of their top names and possibly the most popular wrestler in Japan. Their Junior Heavyweight title is a big draw and one of the most respected titles in the world. Now, the NEVER open-weight belt is generating some excellent matches and a lot of attention at every PPV. If they can do that, why can't the WWE?

I feel the same way about using tag teams as jobbers to thrown together main event teams. TOP tag teams are supposed to be better than the sum of their parts. When I used to watch the NWA as a kid, you didn't see a thrown together tag team squashing the Road Warriors or the Free Birds. It's a ridiculous way to cannibalize your own product.

Honestly, I don't really like the McMahon philosophy in many areas.

They have three hours to work with on Raw and the way they spread the time out for each segment is idiotic and part of the reason why these titles get so little attention. Whatever is the main event at the next PPV gets at least 25% of the airing time via in-ring segments, matches, commentary build up or promotional videos. And if Cena isn't in that picture then he gets his own 25% to do what Cena does. Deduct commercial time, in ring entrances, comedy/jobber skits, your weekly half-assed Diva/Tag Title story progression and what are you really left with for the secondary titles?

I've been saying this for a while but I think they need to put more emphasis on the IC title. The IC title should be the #1 contender for whenever a former champion isn't cashing in his rematch clause. And if they really don't have time for it on Raw why not let the IC champion main event Smackdown every week, doesn't even have to be a title match, just give whoever it is the exposure they aren't getting on Raw so that when it's time to move them up the ladder the "WWE Universe" will be a little more behind them.

As for the US title, Rusev should just Madusa the belt and debut the Russian Championship. Then have a bunch of guys challenge him weekly to try and redeem the legacy the US championship once had. Have Rusev completely steam roll everyone until one day finally someone by the name of Sami Zayn gets an upset victory on his first match on Raw as a singles competitor.

Had he not gotten injured last year I would have been okay with him winning the Rumble but right now I feel like I've seen too little of him to get behind him.

I know.

Thing is, for me, is that unlike D-Bry, I can't relate to Reigns.

Oh do you also have a goat face? :P jkjk

But yeah I understand what you mean.

The sad part is that I enjoy the mid card stuff way more than the main event stuff. I thought that Jack Swagger would have at least got the US title by now. I get that Rusev and his streak is important, but I thought when he took out Zeb, it was the blessing to go over. Instead he is another jobber for Rusev to crush. Its such a shame because a while ago the Real Americans were competing for titles.

Is it just me or has Daniel Bryan been relegated to the midcard now?

They just have nothing for him. Bray has a program with Taker. Orton/Rollins, Reigns/Lesnar, Cena/Rusev and Triple H/Sting. All the big boys have storylines and Daniel Bryan is left out in the cold :(

I guess the real question should be 'Would you guys be ok if Daniel Bryan took over the IC Title?' The fans would love it and it would be less likely that he would get dragged into the Authority quagmire.

As much as I hate to say it it seems like that was what was predicted by most fans. Rusev gets thrown under the Cena bus, Bray takes over for Taker, and Vince is desperately trying to do everything to push Reigns even though he can't cut a promo to save his soul.

People loved him before he went solo and proved to the world he couldn't cut a promo for shit.  Watching him, he's actually pretty good in the ring.  HE does need work, but he knows how to wrestle.  He just can't talk.

I'm sorry, but he guy straight up sucks as a wrestler.  He needed Seth and Dean to have to help him out in order to execute a Power Bomb.  The only time that he uses his left hand in the wrestling ring is to fix his hair.  Should I go on?

Yeah, Reigns is terrible in the ring.  He's terrible on the mic.  The fact that no one saw this, or the fact that they don't realize what's going to happen with Reigns winning the title.  I just feel bad for him because the situation he is in, isn't his fault.  Batista is a veteran at least and can adapt.  Reigns is no where near that.  Also, who was cheering for Reigns before?  Like seriously, who? He didn't really get much pop at last year's Rumble if I recall right (Might not be).

The IC title really needs  a veteran holding it.  I actually think Cena should take control of the title for a year and defend it like he would the WWE title.  At least this way he can start working with younger talent and let them get close to winning.  I have actually been thinking about this for a while, but I think WWE needs to have 30 minutes dedicated to the IC, Tag, and US title on every Raw, maybe even Smackdown.  There's plenty of time for it.  I mean, they could cut the useless filler out, lean out the show and use an hour to have some good wrestling.  Plus this changes it up where you can have the undercard get a chance to practice a 30 minute match, this way they're not having duds during pay per views.

Honestly? The only thing WWE is doing right is putting Main Eventers in the 'midcard'. By having Cena fight for the US Title and having Bryan fight for the Intercontinental title, they actually DO bring those respective titles up in prestige.

But it also means nobody cares about the WWE Title. Seriously, Brock can't wrestle or sell or do any of the shit like he could in 2003, and as such he's just not fun to watch. He's only 'good' because they book him to look unstoppable. He doesn't have the speed or strength or appeal or charisma he had in 2003. I just watched some randome shit of his from back then, and he was genuinely awesome back then, no lie! He DESERVED his rise back then. Now? He's a joke. he doesn't have it in him to headline Wrestlemania, and Neither he nor his opponent is anywhere near good enough to help the other out.

So many conflicting opinions and people saying what the WWE should/Shouldn't do/done. I don't know about anybody else but I'm enjoying wrestling right now. Been enjoying it for a while. Can't wait to see 'Mania!

I'm enjoying the conversations and I'm not saying they should stop but (like I've done with gaming, food, sex, and many things in life), sometimes it's really satisfying to just accept things as they are and enjoy.
