I miss the spiderman font...

the old logos were better

I still wonder why the PS3 HAD the same font as the Spider-Man-movie logos.

Yeah the old one looked better.

Well, I guess Sony finally gave up on the concept of a all-powerful PLAYSTATION 3 (ops!) machine and is releasing the console with a more friendly approach, resembling the PS2 in a purposeful manner to attract more their previous leading console' massive userbase.

How can you prefer the new logo when it looks like it depicts something that Nintendo or even Microsoft would introduce. It looks childish and neglects the fact the PS3 is the most powerful console.

So boxarts from new games will have a new logo as well? Bah.

Sony wants the PS3 to be look like PS2 and the PS1

Looks like Sony finally woke up to the fact that they went too far from what made the PS2 the success it was (being the mainstream console instead of the manly 'core gamer' console).
The new logo is much more reminiscent of the PS2 branding.

Now if only they can work on diversifying their game line-up so it has more than LBP and Singstar to attract more casual gamers (and frankly creating user generated content is pretty core still).

Hmmm... how long until we see a pink PS3?
