Interesting, i expect plenty of bundles to make it look worth it.
Also, i expect a ton of advertising for PS3 this year, kinda like MS had for 360 last year.

I think this is only because of the weak pound. When the pound is worth 1.5 euro again then maybe Sony will do a £50 price drop to £199.99.

| kowenicki said: @carl the UK advertising last year for the 360 was... Game 'x' advert - followed by "on Xbox 360, from £129.99" see what I mean? |
Im not talking about the content of the advert.
Im talking about how often the adverts were shown.

If GT5 gets release this holiday which I have a very strong hunch that it will then it's all good.
Well it did get a great cut euro wise, were its down from 399 euro to 299 euro, it only dropped 50 pounds though

The appeal of games here in the UK seems similar to the US. The PS3 slim will do better then what the fatty did so an increase is an increase. I'm more interested in what the slim will do in the rest of EU. Playstation is plastered all over the ground in football matches so can see many people choosing the PS3 over 360 for football games.
People will be amazed by the number of folk whom buy a console for just football games. I cannot think of an exclusive the PS3 has to sell systems in the UK. I know Gran Turismo is big in EU but how big in just the UK?
The PlayStation website has it at 249.99 also. I expect stores to knock 10-20 quid off here and there though
| kowenicki said: @tombi.... no, its always been like this. and how do you explain the euro price at 299 v the dollar then... that is even more at $424 !! |
Remember that stores in america add tax on at the till... so its really $300 + 17.5%. So really its nearer $350 in NA. Plus Europe just like to throw in an extra tax on top of that which is why it is more expensive.
Well the dollar was at 50p for some time, so £200 would be $400... maybe Sony would drop it to £220 when the pound strengthens... the point is, they will be able to drop the price when the pound strengthens again... maybe make it coinside with the motion control release in spring 2010.

Remember GT5 includes the Top Gear test track...

Yeah thinking about it, Sony would pocket the cash :) Although I expect stores will knock 10-20 quid off the RRP like they do now.
