PS3 will outsell 100k+ in Sept if not more (the 360) and be real close to Wii.
Will most likely outsell the 360 this holiday season but trial the Wii.

Exactly. I'm sure the price cut will help but the question is how much? We'll just have to wait and see.

If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.

It's not exactly hard math: 8M/52 ~ 154K. That's the amount it has to outsell the 360 on average every week to close the gap in 1 year.
As per your example (2 years) that would be 77K per week on average, or if you want a more realistic scenario sell a million more under holidays twice, outsell the 360 by about 60K on average during the rest of the year.
Quite unlikely numbers, but not as out of the world as those you said, especially if you spread them over 3 years.
All in all anyway none of this matters. There's no special prize that goes to the maker of the console that comes up ahead of a single unit or even a million. The 360 and PS3 are destined this gen to go towards substantially equal market shares. Their final combined weight against the Wii is still up in the air.
PS3 will beat 360 or tie by the end of the month due to the official price drop.
Will outsell 360 in Oct( Uncharted 2)....tie in Nov(Modern Warfare), and outsell in Dec.
PS3 will beat 360 by only a 600 k margin for the year ( yess it's alot but consider the 9 million gap)
If sales are good and 360 somehow loses steam game wise ( which I doubt it looking at the 2010 lineup) PS3 will be 360 by the end of 2012.

- 45% steady sales increase YoY (PS3 sales Sep-Dec 2009 compared to Sep-Dec 2008)
- 11.5-12 million PS3s sold in 2009
- Gap to X360 decreased down to 6.5 million at end of year 2009.
- The MS counter in Sept with $20/$50 price drop on X360 to $179 and $249 will not be enough, why PS3 closes the gap by end of 2011, leaving X360 in third place this generation.
This generation is hereby decided.
