Forums - Nintendo - What if Nintendo published The Conduit?

Who here thinks that sales would have been stellar for HVS and The Conduit if Nintendo was the publisher instead of Sega?  All of Nintendo's titles are big sellers and in one statement by Pachter (http://www.industrygamers.com/galleries/pachters-podium-ps3-slim-wii-core-audience-best-buy-price-matching-used-games--more/), he expresses the idea of Nintendo Wii owners as only wanting Nintendo core games.

I know I have always had a Nintendo system (except for the Super) and I love 3rd party games a lot.  I love the Wii because I have all the games he mentions, but I also have the kid stuff for my family that they like too like Mario Party 8 for example.  That's a fun game and Mario Kart is totally fun.  But I'm a fan of the 3rd parties like Conduit, Manhunt, House of the Dead 2 & 3 and Overkill, RE4 and Umbrella Chronicles, etc.

What do you others think would have resulted if Nintendo had more of a hand in Conduit and had actually been the publisher instead of Sega?  Just curious.

Consoles owned: NES, N64, PS1, GC, PS2, Wii.

The game wouldn't have been released yet, because Nintendo would have persuaded high voltage to polish it more.

It would have definitely been a better game.

They would've send people over to help, thus making it a better game.

And the artstyle would've been good...

I agree, Nintendo would have been hounding HVS to polish the game more.
Nintendo is the only company who isn't afraid to push a game back. I mean they push a game back pretty darn far too. I remember the initial release date for SSBB was December 3, 2007. Then it got pushed to February 10, 2008. Then it got pushed to March 9, 2008. They pushed it back for quality and look what we got out of it. Nintendo would have definitely made a huge impact. Nintendo may have even lent some artist from another team to help out.

 These two know the score.

Also, plenty of Nintendo games don't sell well at all.

i don't know if saleswise it would be much different, just look at games like excitebots for example.

I don't believe it was. The first announced release date was Dec. 3, 2007 as I can recall. Nintendo only wanted to release one big 1st party title at launch and it was Zelda. They didn't want to interfere with sales of their own games. So they depended on 3rd parties to launch the Wii off. Can you imagine if Mario, Zelda, SSBB etc. launched on the same day?
