I was waiting for trophies and so have owned a sealed copy for many months now. But my anime geek friend came over after conneticon and requested to play it. Of course I couldn't turn down a guest, especially another fan of tou-hou, especially after he raved about how good it was. He also convinced me to buy a psp, but anyway.

Fantastic game.

But I have one problem. My loli army doesn't have the same loli sniper that his game had! WTF!?! Do these characters get randomized at the start of the game or something, cuz I need more hot chicks in my army.

you recruit more members, and every member gets along with others.
Example

Aika loves Vyse
Vyse loves Aika
Aika hates the dark (so don't put her in dark places)

Largo loves Vegetables.
Largo loves Rosie

Marina loves being alone.

and so on

Marina is a great sniper of course, but my friend played on the same game and got some different sniper chick, catherine, who's hotter than marina.

I know that they have friendship circles, but a lotta the girls like each other too

I believe only about half of all the soldiers in the game are available at the beginning, randomly chosen. The rest become available later in the game.

It's pretty random which characters you get. I didn't get all in first playthough as I didn't get all of the secret characters (5?).
