Gamers follow games. For that reason, they're not called Consolers (we call those folks sheep).

@wenlan,
What I really never understand about these complaints is the importance you guys all of a sudden give to graphics.
Playstation fans had to deal with the worst graphics last gen, and now everything worse than the mighty PS3 is ugly.
You bought MH2 on PSP right, that was worse looking than the 1st one, so there your arguments already fail.
And are MH 1 & 2 totally bad looking games because you could have them in HD, come on. If you're really a fan of MH you should be glad that a new one is coming, with online and better graphics than PS2 (let alone PSP).
| wenlan said: Capcom has been milking MH fans with so many monster hunter games. I am really curious what significant improvement MH3 is going to make this time. MH is just not the type of game you need to use Wiimote. Yes, adding Wiimote to this game can be fun, but not critical. Before this announcement, I, as a big MH fan, was hoping to have the HD quality and awesome online experiences with MH3. A lot of my die-hard MH gaming friends were really looking forward to playing MH3 on their PS3/Xbox360 (yes, we are prepared to hear Capcom announcing MH3 to be cross platform). But the 480p quality on Wii makes the most of us decide to stick to the MH games we already have on PS2 and PSP. I can understand the developing cost for PS3 version will be much higher than the Wii version, but common, Capcom, you should prove yourself that you can do it. |
ah boohoo now it's on thewii and you don't like it anymore.
'I, as a big MH fan'
yeah it seems to me that your a real fan.
How far along was this game when it was being developed for the PS3? Is Capcom going to lose money for ditching this game?

Probably be quite a few other companies using the same reasoning.

Exactly. Wenlan what you are saying is you aren't an MH Fan your just a graphics whore, which doesn't make sense considering the other MH games are not graphically impressive at all. If you were a true fan you would follow the game, not the company. Soriku is less of a fanboy than you. Yeah, that sounds like an insult, but consider this: Soriku is a KH fan. So much so that he was willing to completely switch consoles in the hopes of playing it (even if he really had no concrete evidence it will be on the Wii). That's what being a fan of a game is. Your not a fan. You have no right to call yourself a fan of that game.

My guess is they just started engine design. If they had already spent tons of cash building a PS3 engine they would have made it a 360/PS3 multiport, like they did with DMC4.
Then again, MH makes its sales in Japan, where PS3/360 port wouldn't do much.
There is no such thing as a console war. This is the first step to game design.
Monster Hunter 3 comming to Nintendo? God that is one death blow to Sony.
@BengaBenga
We are looking forward to MH3 on PS3/Xbox360 because we were hoping to see a HUGE LEAP on the graphic improvement. Previously, MH has only been released on PS2 and PSP, what other choices do we have? MHP2 is much better than the first 1 in almost every aspect. I don’t know why do you think it’s “worse looking
Again, it comes down to what do you expect from “this†generation. For new Monster Hunter (console version), HD graphics on HDTV is what I am waiting for. Maybe I expect too much from the video game industry. The developers (skill) and consumers (price tag) are just not ready yet. Anyway, I wish MH3 will do well, and Capcom will make more money to make a HD MH4 later.
@SleepWaking
Don’t be so “sarcasticâ€, it is not nice.
I still like MH games and I am still a fan. I have never considered myself “die-hard†and I don’t need to purchase everything released by Capcom. For example, I won’t buy MHP2â€G†because I already have MHP2. If MH3 is way better than PS2 version, I will buy it. If it is too obvious that Capcom rush it out to make some quite bucks, then I will wait for MH4. It’s just that simple.
