Square used to be good, Enix used to be good and still are good. Atleast judging from Dragon Quest, never played Star Ocean. So for me it'd be Enix I guess, even though I love lots of Square's a bit older games.
Square-Enix keeps dishing out repetitive RPG's. I pray to the RPG god FF13 doesn't suffer.
Square-soft all the way
can't wait for Track Season 2009/2010, guna beast out!
Travis Touchdown ERECTION CONFIRMED!

Square by a long shot for me.
Enix doesn't make Star Ocean though, Tri-Ace does. Enix just owned Tri-Ace I believe.
They obviously aren't too attached being that tri-ace is doing a game for sega.

Enix doesn't really develop any of their games. They just owned the IP's and sourced them out to various developers.
@Op For me Enix is the better publisher, Square the better developer. Enix knew what developers made good games and chose them, and buisness-wise they were smarter than Square. By that I mean they didn't almost get bankrupt again and again. Square was a beast in the Snes/PS1 era though. They used to be a developer that I would buy a game, without knowing anything about it, if I saw their name on the box. Most of the time when I bought these games it was years after they were made, because I wasn't old enough to find them when they came out. The one exception was final fantasy though, and I've been a fan of the series since I was 4.
Both were among the best but Enix wins because of Terranigma and Valkyrie Profile.
