I dont know if you can consider a demo( GT5P) part of the total sales of the completed game(GT5).. but if you can then maybe yea.. but GT5 on its own wont crack halo3



Doubt is not a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd.

owner of : atari 2600, commodore 64, NES,gameboy,atari lynx, genesis, saturn,neogeo,DC,PS2,GC,X360, Wii

5 THINGS I'd like to see before i knock out:

a. a AAA 3D sonic title

b. a nintendo developed game that has a "M rating"

c. redesgined PS controller

d. SEGA back in the console business

e. M$ out of the OS business

Keep in mind that the PS3 has nowhere near the userbase that the PS2 had when trying to figure out how many copies a game will sell.

I'm not saying that GT5 will flop or anything, but I don't see 10+million sales for it either. Remember also that when Prologue was released there really wasn't a ton of great PS3 games on the shelf and Prologue was always priced lower than a full release.

You could also say the PS3 hasn't go an HD game which has sold over 4M.

metal gear solid 4 selling 4.1 + and still selling.

 

To split hairs, MGS4 isn't an HD game.

MGS4 runs in 720p, as does CoD4 (I believe). 720p is High Definition.

OT: NO! GT5 will not come near Halo 3's sales, and don't say userbase doesn't matter, because of course it matters! MGS and Soul Calibur outsold their previous iterations due to less competition and increased series popularity, not to mention pretty much any userbase can sell 1 million or 4 million, but how many can sell 10 million? GT5 might hit 10 million, sure, but Halo 3 won't stop short of 12 million. ]

Best selling PS3 game, yes. Best selling HD game, no. Second best selling HD SKU, perhaps (best selling HD game is currently GTA IV, best selling SKU is Halo 3 on X360).

I doubt it. PS3s highest selling games are GTA IV and COD4 near 5 mil each. It has to outsell those games before it even begins to touch Halo 3.
