They should take the defective 360's, put them in a landfill, take footage of the landfill, and use it on a future commercial.
Pixel Art can be fun.

Lets not forget the PS2 games that just will not play in my PS2 slim.. |
Was that an issue? Cause the only games my brother's ps2 doesn't like that I know of are both God of Wars. They'll sometimes work only after extensive resetting.

It's not about making any money off of the broken systems. It's about attracting your competitor's customers. It's like accepting a competitor's coupon or price matching.
Keep this in mind when reading what I type...
I've been gaming longer than many of you have been alive.
Hey, some 360 owners send emails to IGN for tech support and replacement of RRODed consoles. I don't see why this couldn't work
So what if Microsoft starts bashing the lies and the horrible PR that Sony has made? Calling them out on all their bullshit. That'd make a nice ad.

I thought I was the only one! Both of my God of Wars are genuine, so that can't be it. I played them both, then I tried to replay GoW2 a few months later, it didn't work! Same for the original! All of my other games work fine!
Maybe I should try extensive resetting. I have a PS2 phat, btw.
at first I thought you meant Sony should bash Microsoft for defective 360s on commercials like Sega used to do with Nintendo back in the 90s.

With the continuous supply of junk hardware MS is putting out, I'm sure a decent number of people would take advantage of this way out of the vicious cycle of repairs. I never could understand why consumers have been so tolerant of an obviously defective product. http://www.gamingbits.com/content/view/6337/1/

BRILLIANT! A person with 360 games can all of a sudden start to play them on the PS3. And Sony can take an even larger loss on each sale. And gee, let's hope the Slim model doesn't manifest defects.
People buy a system to play games on it. Understand this. Just as people put up with defected lasers on the PS2, they put up with RROD on the 360.

You may be onto something here. Considering how much money Sony has lost on the PS3, it would be perfectly natural for them to do something that wouldn't make them money.
How about getting 2 or 3 free games if you trade in your 360 for a PS3? That has the seemingly same price, but costs Sony a LOT less money to do.
