That would make a compelling riposte to the "This is living" slogan.

RROD is a design flaw and will always be around.
I just hope to God the 720 or whatever it is is backwards because It's going to be a bitch to get a working 360 to last for years when the system is no longer produced.
It's just that simple.
Still the problem is not solved. Gosh I was saving up for one, but i'll continue to wait. Since I haven't sided with either HD yet I might look at the PS3 more when the next two price cuts come around.
I'm totally flabergasted that any console owner would be happy enough to put up with this. Seven, eight times in some of the worst cases. I've had my Wii since launch. I have 2 kids that have my Wii tumble Wiikly and get's played for numerous hours a day. I have not had to return it or repair it once since launch day. I know some have(guy mentioned above). I have had to return my DS because of bad shoulder buttons and i'm having the same problem again, but will upgrade to DSi first. But I could never imagine more than twice.
I have a new form of respect for your perseverance that you can put up with it.
Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.
Given the fact I clicked on one of the links of RRoDs on Jaspers, and there was absolutely no mention of it being a new 360, it makes me really question the validity of the article.
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
Xbox 360 has a 3 year warranty. The Playstation 3 doesn't. Why the hell would you chance switching if you're already a 360 fan and your 360 costs 199?
I mean shit, it takes less than 5 days for them to get a new one at your door.
I think the people worried about this are people who have never had a RRoD. It's a small inconvinience, for a guarnteed 3 year system life, and I think it's a better deal than a system that probably won't break down, with a short warranty and slow return, as far as dependability goes.
I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.
NO NO, NO NO NO.

a ps3 will last more than 3 years =).
Yes but obviously the chances of getting one will become much smaller over time. I mean, I still believe there's a new chipset planned for 09/10. Valhalla?

I'm actually hoping it will be forward compatible.
