Well, someone told me that there would be 2 Slim models (one with a bigger HDD, Wifi and BC) and another one without those extras.

I wouldn't go by this though, it's up to you.

Get the refund and wait for the PS3 Slim.

So get the £299 now, and don't play games for a week or two. If they announce a slim with Wifi on the 18th, buy one of those for around £250. If they announce a Slim with no wifi, then either buy one and an adapter, or buy an old PS3 phat again for at the mpst £299

That can be a problem, at least for me.

With the PS3, you can create multiple memory cards and have a lot of save files. For RPGs, that's very important! Plus, you want the upscaled resolution and component quality from the PS3 instead of paying $20 for PS2 component cables (PS3 ones would work, but what do you do if you only have HDMI cables for the PS3?). And most of the PS2 games are not HD-compatible (as I call them), but with the PS3 I know they can all look great on a HDTV. Also, the PS3 can play blu-ray and not the PS2, so when I bring it to my parent's house (when there's something going on there I mean), I have to bring both the PS3 and PS2 if we want to watch a movie the same night. That's a lot of cables to bring and shit! xD

So yeah, a BC PS3 is THAT important!

Can you go until 18th August (GamesCom) without a PS3?

You may have to wait even longer if they schedule a PS3 Slim for later in the year. My advice is just to buy the current PS3 now- they WILL take out features in the Slim. I don't know what, but they will. WLAN will probably stay, maybe fewer USB ports (though there are already only two...)

Alright never mind that. If you can wait until 18th August, do so and see what happens, if no announcement, buy a regular PS3, if it's announced too late for you, buy a regular PS3, if too many features are missing, buy a regular PS3. Otherwise, buy a Slim.

If you can't wait that long, go on and buy a PS3 now.
