I guess it depends on where you get your used copy. Gamestop lists a used copy of COD4 for $45 while getting it new is $50 which is insane and I doubt this'll be any different for Modern Warfare 2.

I would feel guilty not giving them money for a game I'll enjoy so much.
So no, they'll get my money this once. What happens after that is up to them.

You are a true gamer, i like that attidue. Even though I dont like Activision or CoD MW, I think its the right thing to support the industry that provides us with the finest entertainment in the world.

Buy it, but wait one week and do your bit to drop the first week sales. That's what I'm going to do. I feel kind of sorry for IW here, who I think are the second best FPS developer around (after Valve), and who I feel are somewhat caught by the choices made by Activision and the bad reaction the publisher has been eliciting recently.
In the end though, millions of gamers are going to buy it day one whatver (many of whom will later squeal in agony when game prices take a permenant hike, at least for AAA games) - the need to be first online, get Achievements/Trophies first, etc. is going to outweigh any notion of sending Activision a message.
Sad but true.
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

And a second question, if you don’t mind, just your comfort level regarding pricing of some of your new games that have some expensive controllers and any feedback that you had from retail as we move through the holidays. Thanks, guys. Michael J. Griffith And then on the second question, Tony, on the pricing, we’ve had for all of our launch titles in the back half of this year, some of which contain peripherals, as you point out, very strong retailer acceptance and support for all parts of our plan, including our merchandising plans, our marketing programs, and our price points. Robert A. Kotick And Tony, you know if it was left to me, I would raise the prices even further. http://seekingalpha.com/article/154118-activision-blizzard-q2-2009-earnings-call-transcript?page=8 Of course they're not going to do it. But some of their products are quite overpriced like DJ Hero. |
lol ironic that this is the guy who threatened to stop supporting playstation consoles if sony didn't lower the price.
More ironic is it that activision is quickly becoming the worst gaming company..
most ironic is it that this guy only grew ballz after activision merged with vivendi/blizzard.
