but they're really just blue colored dvds. imported from china, the picture quality is VCD crap, and the sound is horrid. but they're packaged as "blu ray" complete with the markers of "beyond high definition", "5.1 digital surround sound", etc.

the funny thing is, i discovered this because my father came home one day with like a hundred or so of these things, telling me that i should never buy a blu ray movie from the retail shop again when we can just buy a ton of the "exact same things" for 1/1000 of the price. he was so proud that we now have a thriving blu ray collection.. that is until he put one of em on. then he ran back to the store demanding his money back, which they did give. wonder if i should report that place to the police..

there is no difference between bluray and vcd, it's all a conspiracy thought up by the execs at sony

ive seen them before its just a gimmick. but you can actually get films on dvd that are "dunno how" encoded like HD and they look pretty good

theres also others called mp4 movies that have HD splashed all over them.

just a word of caution........in the uk many dealings like these are organised by crims, and it wouldnt be wise to get into a tangle with them.

but i completly agree they should be clamped down on.

Yes call the police, that is illegal, if anything because they are illegally copying movies.
