Funnily enough, I was thinking about a Sony rewards scheme the other day, like Nintendo's Stars catalogue (EU), where you can redeem points from first party games against cool stuff like SMG soundtrack CDs, Wii Fit bags, Wii Music Harmonicas, etc etc. It could be like that - Jak and Daxter tat, GT5 Calendars etc.

I think they'll go a slightly different route though, and make it something to do with trophies or tie it into the PSN - it won't be money/cash credits though. No company would do that.

Sounds like a pretty good idea to me, never underestimate word of mouth.

yea i think it would be cool if they rewarded you with points you can redeem for things on psn. also i think it would be some short of tracking system for games you actually own...dont quite know how they would do it be i think that would be useful.

It appears Sony has filed a new trademark called “P.S. Thanks,” which is an “incentive rewards program geared toward quantifying, identifying and motivating top consumer base with the goal of promotion and sale of video game hardware and software.”

In non-legal terms, this sounds like a rewards program for PlayStation fans. We don’t have much more information to go on, but perhaps this will reward the true hardcore PS fan. We’ve asked for a comment from Sony and will let you know what they say about P.S. Thanks.

What's the likelihood of trophies playing a part in this?

i hope trophies play a big part. it would be another reason to pop that old tomb raider copy i have and actually get all the trophies.
