Forums - Nintendo - Star Fox Wii

I don't care if it's Starfox, Pilotwings or Rogue Squadron, I just want a full game with Airsports controls.

3rd person airsports controls with an option to switch to 1st person pointer controls would be awesome.

LucasArts, Nintendo, whoever, just make the frikkin game already.

Hm... haven't gotten/played/watched WSR... but I do like the IR idea (although I like staying in 3pv w/ an on-screen reticule better)... Do you use the nunchuk?

Starfox is my number one most anticipated announcement too! I still think of Starfox as one of Nintendo's bigger franchises even if I'm in the minority.

I never even bought Starfox Assault because I heard it was a disappointment (wasn't even developed by 1st party Nintendo) but Lylat Wars on the N64 remains one of my all time favourite games and I can't wait for a fitting sequel.

I'd love a Lylat Wars style new Star Fox. I think a variety of control options could be done for the game- M+ controls, nunchuk/remote and classic controller would all be possible control schemes.

If Nintendo are willing to give the go ahead for Sin and Punishment 2 based on Virtual Console sales, I expect we'll see a Starfox at some point during this generation. Just don't hold your breath while waiting for Starfox, F Zero or other franchises to appear. Nintendo will release them when ready.

I've been waiting for Star Fox Wii to be announced for years. I really really want it.

and Fox is sooo adorable! :3

It's a question of who is going to develop it. Nintendo doesn't seem to be as willing to farm out franchises now (Other M doesn't quite count, since it's members of the old Metroid team put together with staffers from a 3rd party), and clearly they seem to be having trouble getting the games they have out on a timely basis.

I mean, each EAD group has a game releasing imminently that would be occupying their time, and we know what most of the internal teams are occupied with.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

would love to see star fox get some justice after last gen. adventures was a throw away and who remembers assault.

i doubt that nintendo will bring it this generation. they seem to be content to sit on top with only mario and the wii series leaving most of their IPs unrepresented.
personally, i would prefer one of the racing games to come back, be it f-zero, wave race, or 1080 in full form with online support.

When/if it happens I want Nintendo to do it themselves. I don't mind waiting.

You can plug in the nunchuk but it doesn't allow you to control the plane's movements. It only controls the flare, engine cut-out and camera angles I think.

I'm not sure a reticule whilst controlling the plane with M+ would work. I think the reticule would be all over the place as you control the plane. Might work well for 2 player or a dual wiimote setup.

This is why Nintendo need to bring out a Nunchuck plus with its own IR support, in my opinion.
