Assassin's Creed is the biggest new franchise in this generation.

The first game had minor flaws but was an epic game which sold 8 million copies. I recommend to check it out now, before you get completely hooked by the sequel this Fall.

Reviewers don't care about sales. GoTY awards are based on hype and quality. Uncharted 2 has more of BOTH than Assassin's Creed 2.

Be realistic for once. Assassin's Creed II has lot bigger hype and expecations than Uncharted 2. Uncharted is a dwarf franchise compared to Assassin's Creed. Assassin's Creed II will get above 90% on Gamerankings/Metacritic and win GOTY.

Would you care to make a bet on that?

I say Uncharted 2 wins, you say AC2 wins. If neither wins, it's a draw and nobody loses. I think a week of sig/avatar control would be good. Now we just need to decide- whose GoTY award are we going by?

I suppose those would be the Interactive Achievement Awards, but those won't be until February-March next year. Can you wait that long? Because GameSpot is usually pretty good with awards (even if they do suck at everything else). We could also go by Game Critics Awards, which basically sums up the opinion of every major game critic. I'll see if I can find the website.

I'd rather want the official GOTY award, not something that takes influence from LA Times and USA today.

Well since you're interested into Naughty Dog games, you might want to play Jak and Daxter:The Precursor Legacy. Its a great game.

dude im a ND fan ive played ALL THERES GAMES!!!....anywayz ive decided to get Asassins creed, this or next week, but i want to know what doing all the side missions does i read that if you have the PS3 version not to worry about them, somewhere else it said that you get better equipment and items if you do them..which is right?

All the side missions did was give you more health. I was really dissapointed. I thought that with all the extra memory I'll be able to play one last level or something, finding out that there wasn't one =(

It could have been a really cool idea. You think the game's over, but there's one last hidden memory.
