Yes.

As he already owns PS3 games, he obviously like the PS3, and he looks to love the current line up.


His PS3 is broken. You want him to wait just because there is a small chance of a slim. If there isn't then he would have just wasted a lot of time without a working console

There is a high chance of a slim, actually.

And i think the 2-3 week wait would be more than worth it.

The PS3 slim should be announced at Gamescom which is this month. That said why not build yourself a gaming PC? Mass Effect 2 will be coming there as well as most other games releasing on games consoles.

People whom are part of the gaming industry keep on hinting an early September release for the console so simply wait a few weeks and if there is no information then a lot of people will have egg on their face. PS3 Slim is pretty much the worst kept secret in gaming right now above a GT5 release this year and the PSP Go.

So PS3 slim very soon, just wait a couple more weeks. Personally I would say you should build yourself a gaming PC.

Edit - It seems dsister44 is of the fanboy persuation so it would be best if you did not listen to what he has to say.

Killzone 2 does not even compare to halo 3. I also didn't care for Gears, but I was just thinking of a TPS like Uncharted. All Fronts is a "deleted scene from Gears 2. That they are about to release

Thanks that is actually my ideal solution but perhaps I wasn't clear in that I was also trying to factor in the best cheap alternative, otherwise I would just buy a slim and a 360 and convince my girlfriend to throw in a wii

Wait for the 18th of August to see if the Slim will be released and if it will with PS2 BC. If yes, hold out for it, if not and you care about the BC, have it repaired.

As for getting a Xbox 360 and/or Wii, you'll have to decide if the games those consoles have and will be having ignite your curiosity enough to forfeit the future titles coming to PS3 and the inability to replay those you already have.

In your opinion.

In many other peoples opinion im sure Halo 3 is the most over-rated pile of garbage on the 360.

If things add up too much, by a new PS3 and don't wait for a slim.

I've actually only played Halo 3 for the first time last month (Halo 2 left a bad taste in my mouth which is probably why i didn't jump on the train during its epic release) and didn't find it any better or worse than KZ2 ............. it had more color though, lol, and i f think color is good.

Also is All fronts an expansion or is it a stand alone game?
