It's possible, just not probable.

With the "new case", it could even just be colours.

I think there is no doubt that Natal will be built in at some point.

It really boils down to the issue of cost.

If MS can do a redesigned unit that's smaller and has fewer components and uses less materials, they can produce them for less and increase their margins. Plus it would be smaller, lighter, could be shipped in a smaller box, making it cheaper to send through distro channels as well as being able to store and shelf more at retail.

Sounds like a good idea to me.

If such a redesigned unit could be marketed as a "new" console, presumably along with the Natal launch, then I really don't see why not.

I would personally buy one.

Plus, isn't there a chipset redesign in the works to integrate the CPU and GPU on one die? That right there would reduce costs in addition to allowing it to be mounted on a much smaller motherboard.

Well, they have shrunk the chips twice now, so motherboards could probably get smaller, and obviously the cooling has improved and could be made a bit better/smaller.  Another thing is, they may not necessarily make it "slimmer" but they could definitely make it shorter (when stood vertical) and maybe not as long (from faceplate to rear ports).  If they change the width/length they will have to change the HDD in some way.

they will probably be cases for housing natal and the 360 personally i dont want a 360 slim until they completly 100% fix the RROD

xbox 360 hardrive is a side slotting device, so i doubt they would make case slimmer mabey some refinments.

if they did they would have to put out new slim hardrives also.

Idk, I just don't see it happening mainly because of the Hard drive.  Even if they only slim it down by a fourth or fifth they still wouldn't be able to fit it.  And I don't think it would work even if they made a compartment on the side to put the HD in.  And I don't think MS would take away interchangable hard drive's.  Also there's the massive power brick, which would look gay by a slim console.

Its might be possible to slim it down by a little but anything more is unprobable.

What are you smokin?  Natal was never scheduled for this holiday.  Holiday 2010 more likely.  Same with Sony's new motion stuff.  Spring 2010 at the earliest.
