This game is quite good.  As far as genre goes, i'd say it's a mashup between a RPG and RTS and Capture The Flag... well. Kind of.

For $10 it's well worth the purchase.  If you haven't tried it yet give it a whirl!

It's a decent game, but I find the "story" cringe worthy, and it's kind of annoying how they always introduce elements the level after you really could've used it. I don't know why you think it's a mash up, seems pretty clear tower defense to me.

Yeah, from what I've heard from Tor, it seems like a pretty simple Tower Defense game.

It's a mash-up between tower defense and RTS and is fun, initially--after a while, though, it tends to turn into a grind and I barely managed to complete the main quest because boredom was setting in.

It is a completely different game than my life as king.  Hard to make a comparison.  I think they are both good.  But i have yet to finish dark lord.  Based on some of the other comments in this thread it might not be good right till the end!

As far as other tower defense games, Torillian messaged on my wall his suggestions of other tower defense games, but this game is completely unlike Pixel Junk monsters.... which i found totally unplayable.  And comet crash i have not tried but I will check out.
