1. Dragon Quest (Warrior)
2. Wizardry II
3. Final Fantasy VI (III)
The funny thing is, I never liked any of these games when I played them the first time, back in the day. Nor did I like RPGs. It wasn't until I played a little game called Chrono Trigger did I actually sit down and give a full RPG a chance. And I actually went back and played not only these games, but many of the others in their series. And now RPGs are tied for my favorite genre.
1. Final Fantasy IV (II SNES)
2. Phantasy Star II
3. Secret of Mana
Still some of my favorites of all time though Phantasy Star II kicks your ass and hasn't aged quite as well as FFIV or Secret of Mana.

Pool of Radiance (C64)
Ultima IV (C64)
Ultima V (C64)
(Funniest thing of all is that they were able to do more with 64kB than they are doing with 256MB now.)
Ok I gave 3 points for each 1st RPG played, 2 points for each 2nd RPG played and 1 point for each 3rd RPG played.
So far, here is the results :
1. Dragon Warrior / Dragon Quest - 18 points
2. Final Fantasy VII and Super Mario RPG - 12 points (each)
3. Final Fantasy II (IV) - 9 points
4. Pokemon Blue and Chrono Trigger - 8 points (each)
5. Pokemon Yellow, Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy X - 7 points (each)
6. Secret of Mana - 6 points
