Forums - Sales - The 10 Milion gap, how much long to reach it?

If Sony does nothing, by 2010 at the latest. If, however, Sony does something (and we all know they will, in fact we know exactly what they will do), I don't expect to ever see a 10 million unit gap.

Doesn't that assume Microsoft will do nothing in retaliation? Shouldn't it be assumed they have tricks in store for the holiday as well?

Very well, if Microsoft bombs all of Sony's factories in retaliation, there will be a 10 million gap by the end of the year.

hahah that was funny LOL....

I love to see why people think a $150 xbox will be here anytime soon..

The only thing that M$ will do is drop the elite price and kill the pro.

I think any pricecut this Christmas from MS would be daft.

Seriously, why waste the pricecut now... when you can use it for Natal launch.

Its not like they NEED to cut the price.

I don't understand the skepticism everyone. Microsoft usually has been extremely successful due to its holiday pricing.

^I agree

Microsoft and the 360 will be the ones that come out of the holidays with a huge smile on their faces while Sony wonder (again) where it all went wrong, Sony's last hope is the PS3 slim and GT5, if those fail or sell less than expected (the slim might not do that well) then sony have nothing left to try, I'm not bashing Sony but am looking at it logically, Sony also has it's financial results out this week which *could* have a HUGE impact on the pricing on the PS3 slim and any price cuts.

Microsoft have lots of things they can do to counter any moves by Sony, pricecuts, new bundles, 360 slim etc, I'd say Microsoft have a LOT more options than Sony right now, Microsoft might even decide not to do anything if they don't think the PS3 slim will be a threat, time will tell.....

well, I expect Sony to cut the price before the 10M are reached.
