All you need is a PS3, and a memory stick, just download and play... There will still be load times, but, it wont be as long since it's on the memory stick (or hard drive).
No, I don't miss carts, because I still use them for my SEGA Genesis. Each and every single one of my 30 Genesis games works. But, I'm sure that since we're starting to move into download only content that load times will slowly disappear, and they'll be on memory cards. But, you people also will need to complain a lot more. Otherwise people wont care to fix this problem.
I've gotten used to waiting, and BlazBlue for example has close to no load times at all. The most I ever wait is about 3-6 seconds, and who cares about that? It's 6 seconds.
I take care of my games, Metal Gear Solid 4 doesn't have a single scratch on it yet, and neither does BlazBlue. The only thing I can say about carts is they last longer than CDs. Hell, sometimes carts can outlast the system. My Sonic the Hedgehog 1 cart is years older than my Genesis. But, at least CD's wont break after the 1st time they get wet, and Carts dont get burn ins. Thank goodness I've never experienced either of those, though.
I didn't know that dist killed carts, but, I do take the time to clean them out with a bit of alcohol and a paper towel every once in a while.
