So far I've only played the multiplayer. The co-op in this game is brilliant. You literally have to time things perfectly and work together to get through the stages. It's ridiculously awesome, and my friends and I were laughing our asses off last night over a few hilarious things that we did. This game is just loads of fun with friends.

I am going to try the single player right now. I hope it's fun as well!

EDIT: Also, in the multiplayer, the developers went so far as to include a timer so that you and your friends can coordinate your 'splosions. Press the left trigger and a big countdown starts in the top middle of the screen (with sound) and it goes 3...2...1..

It's literally just a timer, but it was an extremely helpful addition. Like I said, you really need to coordinate in this game.
