Infinity Ward's decision. Treyarch has no problem with the Wii. Infinity Ward needs the processing power. They just can't work the Wii well enough to do. Lack of skills. Lack of skills.

Still, I wonder if N-Space is going to make Modern Warfare 2 for the DS?

I dont think it has much to do with lack of skills.. I mean if they can make  a PS3 and 360 game, how can they not make a wii game? Its just they do not like the wii, neither does Epic games.

You clearly didn't pay attention to the fact that those games sell well on the PS2 last gen. Just developers were actually giving the PS2 good games as well to balance it out. There is nothing stopping them from doing that on the Wii other than their own stubbornness.

I agree.  This is why I am so irritated that Activision allowed such a crappy port of "Call of Duty: World at War" to be made for Wii.  I want the full version of the game and I am tired of watered down ports.

1. Multiplatform is not a port. Port means AFTER the first game is made.

2. THAT'S what's upsetting you? In case you hadn't noticed WaW is at least something. I clearly meant the games developers aren't giving the Wii AT ALL.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

@ leo-j,

I agree that those developers apparently don't like the Wii, but I disagree concerning the difficulty in programming for the Wii. When you have the power of the HD systems to use when programming a game, it's relatively easy to make the game look good and run well (although of course gameplay and story are entirely unrelated). This is the same as the PC. You often times have lazy PC developers who create a game with poorly optimized code that SHOULD be able to run on a single core 3ghz, but instead required a quad-core simply because they were lazy or not skilled enough to optimize their code. Wii developers however have much less to work with and thus must truly be talented to create a gorgeous Wii game that hold a high framerate. Sure it's easy to program for, and cheaper, but to truly get a fantastic looking game is still a challenge due to CPU/GPU limitations that less skillful developers can't work around.

Hardware is only a means to enjoy great games!

... yet theres no Modern Warfare 2 for Wii?

It's just that simple.

Link or it never happened.

I'm getting sick of seeing people claim IW hates Wii with nothing to support that notion.

Why did Red Steel continue to sell so many copies even after gamers acknowledged it is a terrible game?
Why is a watered down port selling so well?
Maybe Wii owners do not deserve quality FPS like "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare". Why bother to make great FPS if Wii owners will buy any FPS with pretty box?

1. Because it was a launch game. After that, sales came because it cost $20 or less.

2. Because it's one of the best on the platform. Of course, if it didn't sell, people would just say that proves there's no market for FPS on the Wii. Nice catch-22 you've set up there. You're so clever.

3. Yeah, why bother competing at all? Superior products never attract more customers than inferior ones. Your wisdom is astonishing.

Your third statement sums up many of the games for Wii.  Terrible games like "Mario Party 8" and "Mario and Sonic Olympic Games" outsold "The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess".

Carnival Games, Wii Music, Game Party, Sonic and the Secret Rings, High School Musical Sing It, Red Steel and Ben 10: Protector of Eath all sold more than 1 million copies.  Furthermor Hannah Montana: Spotlight World Tour almost reached 1 million in sales.

Yes, why bother trying to make superior products when Hannah Montana: Spotlight World Tour can reach 1 million copies sold?

I see that you're frustrated mostly by party games and licensed IPs.

This might be news to you, but there's a rather large market of people who really like party games and titles like Mario Party and Mario and Sonic are amongst the best games in the genre. Carnival Games and Game Party aren't as good, and that's why they've been budget priced since launch, yet still don't sell as well as the best party games. As with Red Steel, it's no surprise that cheap games move a lot of units; they don't need as much value to justify their price.

As for licensed IPs, they're selling to fans of the license. A superior Ben 10 isn't going to draw people who don't like Ben 10 to begin with, so you only need enough quality to draw the fans of the license. I'm sorry that you found the quality of Hannah Montana's games so disappointing. Maybe the next one will live up to the expectations of more demanding fans like yourself.

I disagree because quality party games exist for the Wii.  "Super Smash Brothers Brawl", "Mario Kart Wii" (I do not like it, but it does make a good party game), "House of the Dead: Overkill", "Rayman Raving Rabbids" and "Boom Blox" to name a few.  Some of these games sold very well, but others did not.  Why is Mario Party 8 outselling Boom Blox and its sequel?  Both are party games?

Mario Party 8 is selling well because you are not the arbitor of what people enjoy.

This is one thing that always bothers me.  Has every dev forgotten how to make Gamecube games from last gen until now? I know that they all weren't making GC games, but many teams were. The Wii is really just an overclocked GC with the only radical change being the motion control. In fact, Red Fly Studios stated the most difficult aspect is the motion control itself.

Wii development has been made out to sound impossible as opposed to everything else and it really is starting to make no sense. Capcom must've spent years on RE4 for the GC but hasn't made a game with that type of quality for the Wii except for.......RE4 Wii Edition. THQ has arguably only made two good Wii games in 31 months........................

I could go on for days with every dev team or publisher, but we have gone over the Wii's stunningly pathetic support many times.

The "lack of skills" part comes from the fact they don't want to challenge themselves by making a Wii version. They can make a good looking game on the 360/PS3 no problem but they can't do that on the Wii because it takes too much effort on their part. Making a Wii game actually look good by comparison is hard work so much so that I doubt they can actually do it. Realism is especially hard to do. That's why most Wii games that get high points in the graphics area are usually due to developers working around the systems limits. Usually they'll try using a good art style to push it. The Wii seems to take too much smart development, overcoming the system limits. The other systems have raw horsepower that can be easily tapped into so its easy to see why Infinity Ward would make that decision.

I honestly think that they CAN'T develop a game for the Wii. They could prove me wrong but why would/should they? They got nothing to lose from one person calling them cowards, especially on the internet.

What is the best selling FPS if you consider MP3 a shooter?
