I was looking at it like a minute ago and I didn't see an article on the fail ring.

No it's talked about endlessly because it's still a huge problem. Don't tell me MS paid of the MS fanboys to shut up about all the shit that keeps happening with their consoles. 360 failure issues is still a major problem and that's quite unfortunate. Of course it's still going to be talked about because it is still happening. |
Thank you.
People talk about it because it's REAL and it's a huge problem.

You must have missed my question to you... What page in the latest Game Informer is the article on?

I have the Game Informer at home so I'll see it during lunch, if the article is there, I'll give you a page number (won't scan though), if not, depending on hellOnEarht's mod history, he'll get warned or banned and thread locked so just leave it at that.
Though if hellOnEath still wants to give a page number, that will make my life much easier^^

August issue page 25 article called Loose Talk has a snip about RRoD.
It's a real article no one needs to get their panties in a wad here :P

The relevant question is what failure rate from RROD (or anything) of currently produced consoles?
Microsoft, with its Arcade unit price point and some games (esp. on XBLA) is trying to position itself as attractive to potential Wii owners. But it is doubtful that such casual consumers would stay with the consoles after the first failure.
That is why this is still important.

What is with the "Old news" attitude?
So just because it has been happening for years now we should just ignore it?
What a lousy attitude to have towards a product you spend hundreds of dollars on.
I haven't had an RRoD yet, but even if it happens in 2010 trust me I would make one hell of a fuss because after this long shit like that should have been taken care of.
Also to those who are saying "Well they made profit the last 2 quarters". MS set aside that 1Billion and put all of that cost into 1 quarterly or yearly report am I right? If so, what would have happened if MS reported those costs as they happened? What if those costs were spread out through the last 2 quarters in which this problem still occured?
You do not know for sure if those quarters were as profitable as you think. Not to mention that you have an entire EDD division that posted that profit. You have no clue what so ever that the XBox division posted profit.
Or do we?

What I am trying to really say is that the 360 came out in 2005. We are now in 2009. 4 years later and this is still happening. Stop trying to write it off like it doesn' matter anymore since it is "old news".
It sure as all hell isn't "old news" for the people who experience it right now.

@CGI
Well we have some people here who still do not own a 360, so those people should be able to read news about this without people getting all worked up about it.
I know I would like to know the current situation if I were to pick one up, wouldn't you?
This news doesn't matter much to me because mine still works amazingly, but it just gets annoying when people try to write off things because of reasons like "old news". By that same logic maybe we shouldn't make a big deal about Sony losing money from PS3 sales.
It is so 2006.
News is news, no matter how old or new the problem is. Only we have to hope it can be a civil discussion instead of a people acting like children and pointing fingers at fanboy groups or labelling things as troll topics or bringing up division loses of companies that have zero to do with the topic at hand.
This is why I do not post here much anymore. Amongst other personal reasons which is located in my sig.
Anyways i'm out. I said what I wanted to say.

I'm just going into this thread because of mod jobs and messages yelling OMG IT'S FAKE!!!
And yeah, page 25, on Loose Talk, Hot Gaming Gossip:
Microsoft's problems with the Red Rong of Death are well documented. The company went public with its woes in 2008, saying that it was setting aside $1 billion to deal with the situation. While the company's effort are sincere, and $1 billion is a heavy hit to take, we're hearing so far the problem has exceeded the $1 billion mark and is showing no signs of showing
Wild speculation and nothing else.
