In two and a half years dreamcast had sonic adventure, crazy taxi 1 and 2, shenmue I and II, virtua tennis I and II, soul calibur, jet set radio, house of the dead 2, power stone 1 and 2, virtua fighter 3, sega gt, mr driller, ecco the dolphin, sega rally, silent scope, space channel 5, resident evil code veronica, ferrari f355, daytona usa, fur fighters, ikaruga, rez, grandia 2, skies of arcadia, dead or alive 2, mdk 2, nba 2k1, metropolis street racer, phantasy star online... all exclusive dreamcast games that time!

It was the first console to have online.

It was the first console with motion control (samba de amigo). 

It was the first console to have 480 p.

I'm disheartened by the fact that the VMU never became an industry standard.. Cool Memory card ever. If it had a rechargeable port, rather than having to replace those circular batteries, it would have been perfect.

as a SEGA fan I don't know what people liked so much about the Dreamcast - I had much more fun with the Saturn

No it wasnt overrated... it pretty much brought XBL quality online years before MS, it managed to gather more AAA titles in 2 years then some systems barely manage to get during a lifetime and it had some trully original games on it, and tons of great arcade ports

So some might go to far when praising the DC it still was amazing, and saying that only the Sonic Adventure games stood out is extremely arrogant

All this greatness arrived in a 2 year period on the mighty Dreamcast.

Also, have any of you played your dreamcasts lately then played the wii after? I think the dreamcast easily matches the wii on some games, daytona, crazy taxi and sonic easily match a lot of games on the wii, maybe slightly better (shock horror!)

no console with the best tennis game (at the time) can be overrated.
