Big ouch, sales and shipments almost 50% down YoY (Nokia reported 25% down YoY).

It is more ouch for the whole market than for Sony alone?

I only checked Nokia (as the post says), but I'd be surprised if most cellphone makers were posting nearly 50% drops.

piece of advice no one should work in an electronic company at these times. especially if you are importing them.

Well the -25% drop of Nokia was for me more surprising.

Recession is eating up the phone industry, and Sony Er... seem to be worst hit.

Most businesses are posting 15-30% drops in revenue this quarter due to the recession (if you don't count essentials like food and health care).

the demand for sony erricson phones are much higher than before, Nokia is losing alot of potential sales.
but of course to "Demand" something is not the same as "Buying" something.

people want to buy sony stuff stuff but end up buying the cheaper stuff.

And I guess the people calling for Sony Ericsson to go away are justified.
