Forums - Sony - Metacritic: 2009 multiplat games better on Playstation 3

Pretty useless article, because we all know that multiplat games perform almost identical on both platforms and that the difference in Metascore comes from console specific magazines.

Just compare the scores of BlazBlue and Fight Night Round 4. Playstation magazines gave higher scores than Xbox magazines.
I'm not criticising this, but this is where the difference comes from and people should know that a 3 points disparity means nothing to the game versions quality.

With that said I still think Metacritic is the perfect place to determine if a game is great/good/mediocre or bad. Some people who still deny that just have to interpet the numbers correctly.

The differences are too small for me to care.

Yay I guess?

4 ≈ One

They're all like one or two points off and have a lot more reviews than the PS3 versions.

The sales of the games is the most important thing and the user base helps the 360 out in regards to that. There is marginal difference between PS3 and 360 versions of the same game on metacritic- 0 to 3% gap is nothing at all.

This is more to do with platform exclusive reviews than anything else, to be honest. Maybe OXM just hates everything, and PTOM loves everything?

Just accept it 360 owners. ps3 has better games this year. 2009 belongs to ps3.

Wow...The sales...Really?...

Could sworn Everyone told me otherwise

Gamespot used to give Xbox/PS2 games the same score but had a little "best" banner next to the version they judged as having the edge. From memory Xbox got the "best" banners far more often that PS2. Usually PS2 only got "best" if it had extra content. If content was identical then Xbox always got it.

Dunno why they gave up doing that, maybe Sony threatened them or something.

that's cool but does it really make PS3 versions any better? i dont think so.

The comparison is not very reliable between systems that have the same game because often the scores they get from 3rd party reviewers (IGN, 1UP, etc.) are exactly the same. The only difference is often how the official XBOX and PS reviewers score the game, and that basically apples and oranges. If the reviews were from exactly the same sources it might mean something, but they are not.
