Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Apple asked Microsoft to stop airing Laptop Hunter Ads

AAPL is up 50% over the past 6 months from $78-147, recession or no.

I really don't think Apple is feeling particularly pinched by the current MS ads.

apple is a bit rubish now!

all the parts are they same as a pc nowdays

Fake I think. Apple has made way too many negative commercials toward M$ to begging for mercy.

Well that would be most classic double morality example in recent years :D @ Squiliam - you can run 3-4 of gpu cards in commercially available motherbords so there's still chance. Besides look at this: http://www.ocztechnology.com/products/solid_state_drives/ocz_vertex_series_sata_ii_2_5-ssd
http://www.ocztechnology.com/products/solid_state_drives/ocz_vertex_series_mac_edition_sata_ii_2_5-ssd MAC is so awesome they had to release special slower edition of SSD drives becouse Mac OS X couldn't handle high transfers on sata II ports.

If the ads specificly say that a Mac Book is $XXXX.XX, when Apple did indeed changed the price later, isn't Microsoft obligated to say that in fact Mac Books are $XXXX.XX-$100?

It's like a Microsoft ad saying that a PS3 is still $700 in a ad now.

Not sure if they mention a specific price or not.

If it's just Mac wanting to have MS stop saying Macs are expensive due to a 100 dollar price cut, I think it's a hoax. The PR agents aren't stupid, at least not as stupid as Sony PR.

So it all depends on whether or not MS stated a specific price for a Mac (in which case, failing to accurately state the price of a Mac is false advertising), or if MS is just saying "Mac's are expensive". I do think that they do mention the price of a Mac though, maybe for the Vaio one? Forgot.

Look for a media encoding advertisement in the future.

Essentially will go like this:

Most expensive Mac Pro vs Mid/high end PC ($1-2k difference or so) but the mid high end PC has a Direct X 11 capable GPU.

Guy told whichever system is faster at making advertisement is the one he can keep.

Cut to guy finished on the PC, Mac still encoding.

You fail, very, very hard at this.

Have you seen what the most expensive Mac Pro can do?

To get a maxed out Mac Pro it would cost you around $14,000.

Specs: Two 2.93 GHZ Quad-Core Intel Xenons, 32GB of 1066MHz DDR3 Ram, 4 1Terabye 7200RPM ATA Harddrives, and 4 NVIDIA GeForce GT120 512MB Graphics cards.

All in all, you could easily get a better PC for the price, but comparing the most expensive Mac Pro to a Mid/High end PC is pretty foolish now when you look at it :P lol

I could buy the supercomputer at Langley for that much. It pisses me off that Apple even sells a computer that costs 14,000 dollars in 2009.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

How come everyone here hates Macs with a passion?

I can't stand using PCs, but I'm not gonna start attacking Microsoft as I know that different people need different things from their computers and different computers have different strengths.

For example I have tried stop motion animation programmes on PCs but none of them hold a candle to iStopmotion for Mac.

LOL. And for £5000 about $11,000, Ive seen a PC with 4 quad core CPU's (Intel Quad core Extreme QX9650, 4 ghZ air cooled). Yes 4. 32 gb pf 1066Mhz DDR3 Ram and 5 terrabytes of HDD space. Also it ran 2 SLI techs in their which is essentially 4 GPU. The motherboard is amazing. And for lees than the mac you list the PC absolutely picks up the MAc and destroys it using only it's pinky in terms of processing power.

Apple sucks, as does it's pricing. Everyone has PC's and owning a PC makes sharing and gaming easier.
