Hey folks. Truth be told, and I am only gonna reveal it here - we have had at least 300 comments on the blog entry. We had to delete a lot of them with swear words, racist and derogatory comments. We are a newspaper blog - and can't let a lot of stuff through.

The blog was my opinion on how games appear to be heading. It wasn't an attempt to get hits, attention or the like. I was merely pointing out what I could see hapening with folks. I do appreciate folks reading the original article - and not just hearsay - which folks were doing - and then commenting.

What really stirred up the hornet's nest was my comment about the Confederacy. Folks claimed I didn't know what I was talking about. Mind you, I am well-versed in history and fully understood - as I mentioned in the article - that Lincoln wanted to preserve the Union - to stop the states from seceding. That was the purpose of the Civil War. I am a product of the South - and yes, there were some knuckleheads on the Union side - but Jim Crow and the like are a Southern delicacy. I grew up in this for most of my life - and it's apparent from the thousands of responses the blog entry received that it's alive and well, as I have known for years.

Regardless, what I find funniest is - how one person's opinion can get thousands of responses. It's a nonstory that the pros @ Destructoid used - pimped to get hits. Major hits. Google Houston gaming racist or racism and see what you get. Yeah - I know, it's scary.

In the end, folks, it's my observation - and just my opinion.

Yeah - I have been all over N.O.  - Garden District, Metarie, Gentilly, 9th Ward, New Orleans East - it was my old stomping grounds. Very, very, very familiar with the area. Visited right after Katrina and hurt me to my heart. That said, of course I know whites are the minority - but my op-ed - and that's all it was - was about an undertone. What's an undertone? Lawd, not trying to start anything, but an undertone is an undercurrent - something folks may or may not see. Did you read that article? Did you see what I said? And that stuff about RE5 - which I have played - was actually brought up by three gamers - all co-workers - and you'll never guess what race they were. Two are white - one is half Asian, half white. And they wholeheartedly endorsed and agreed with my post. I do too. It's my view on it.

Honestly, I got a very rare opportunity - to be in the midst of this thread, see your real thoughts about my views.

Comeon, folks - keep the party going. Be real - just because it's me, don't stop it. I'm still the same guy who doesn't understand the Civil War - who apparently says L4D2 was racist, as well as RE5.

The sheer amount of attention to my opinion is staggering.

Black people(and muslims too I suppose) are more racist then white people. Why do the white always get the fault? Pretty much every black person has prejudices about white people. Atleast in my country, I got called a racist more then 10 times already because I was looking at a Muslim, just LOOKING. And then people find it strange that a lot of people vote for Vlaams Belang and NVA here(politcal parties that want to divide our country in 2 and want to stop immigration)

I couldn't care less if it did. I have enough racism towards me to not care about black people being to victim all the time

I just hate it when black people always talk about you white people threated us bad and we were your slaves... Um, no, we didn't threat you bad and you were never a slave is what I respond then.

I have a lot of Muslim friends and also some black friends, but they don't see white people as something bad like a lot of black peopel do(in my country atleast, cant speak for the world)
