No Nintendo for one probably couldn't make that many copies for launch day and secondly they don't have all that money to use on marketing to be able to do that.

The only title ever that could compete with Halo 3 that's in Nintendo's library is a Pokemon handheld game. If only they'd all release worldwide on the same day.

there are more people in america than japan. Even with the huge support in Japan i doubt it will beat halo 3

wow. look at all of these threads debating if any great ip has the same 1st day appeal as halo 3. Well, I say nope.

In lifetime sales there are quite a few titles that will surpass halo 3; Galaxy, SSBB, GTA4, and so on. On the first day or week, no. I don't see that in the chicken bones.

Definitely not in revenue because SSBB doesn't have the expensive fancy versions and plastic helmets.

Halo 3 has basicly been the end all be all title since the 360 came out. Smash Bros. has been a Nintendo staple for almost a decade, but has never came out of the gates like Halo 3 did. If Smash Bros. Breaks a million in its first week, I will be surprised. Over the long haul Smash Bros. will be a mulit million seller. Just not all at once.

One more thing. To those above that say that Brawl won't do half as good as Halo 3, they need to look at the sales numbers of the last Smash Bros. game. I think it was in the 4 million area. For the Gamecube, that was very impressive. Hell that would be impressive for any console.

 hmmm...nor does it have the marketing campaign behind it.  Anyone remember the amount of money Microsoft spent telling everyone to buy Halo 3?  

I still have yet to preorder Brawl, or Galaxy. :/
