wow I havent paid attention to the whole sales number i forgot what each consoles were at.

I think however if nobody ever knew the total sales of these systems gamers would be alot happier and more equal.

Vgcharts is always at hard work.

Adjustments. Perhaps a news article should be posted so we stop getting this question?

I do not like seeing these downward sales adjustments in regards to PS3 sales. I get really angry.

Anyway PS3 sales will soon pick up and overtake the 360 come Xmas sales period for 2009. Just ya all wait and see.

You mean with a pricecut, right?

This year? Not gonna happen. Hell, I'm not a betting man, but I'd take the bet that it just won't happen. Let's see some numbers:

I'll be generous and give you 6 months, in which the PS3 needs to outsell the 360 by 9 million. As of right now, July-December, the PS3 would need to outsell the 360 by 1.5 million each month. I think it's safe to say that it won't happen this month, and August is traditionally a slow month, so it won't happen then. Assuming that the PS3 even can match the 360 during the summer (which goes against current trends of 360 outselling PS3), come September, the average monthly difference will need to be 2.25 million. I'll let it close by 600K in September (which is more than the system even sold in September 2008), giving us 8.4 million in 3 months, or 2.8 million average per month. I'll give it another 1.2 million, double the difference from September, in October (which so isn't going to happen). So... 7.2 million in 2 months... in other words, it would need to sell about as much as the Wii last holiday season (when it was near impossible to find one) just to get that number, then sell whatever the 360 also sells in those 2 months (~4.6 million in 2008). And that's setting things as best case scenario for Sony. Worldwide, the 360 is still trending upward, and PS3 is trending flat. There's just no way the PS3 will catch up this year. Even next year, I'd estimate it at a 2% chance of PS3 beating 360 that year. (This versus my estimated 60% chance of the PS3 not catching the 360 at all.)

Do you have stock in Sony? Why get angry over a console?

OT: As stated, the PS3 sales were overtracked. Happens sometimes.

The adjustments correct the other adjustments made in march.

VGCHARTZ has a VERY ACCURATE tracking formula.

BEST OF ALL IT'S FREE!!!!!!

one thing is for sure...sales are overall down. And 360's sales are adjusted well up above PS3's.
