I would agree that the 'fat' PS3 looks nicer, but if that is a real PS3 slim and it allowed them to sell if for cheaper then whatever I suppose.

What does backwards compatibility mean in this case? Does that mean the return of PS2 hardware or does this go back to the patent for PS2 emulation on the Cell?

I call bullshit. Where did you hear these things? The PS3 in the video looked fat. I would hope a slimmer version with no powerbrick. And the light for the HD is a must. The games say "do not turn off ps3 while hdd indicator light is on" and adding BC is a dumb idea. It completely negates the lower manufacturing costs idea AND negates it being slimmed down.

People were wondering how they could drop the price of the PS3 there's your answer. Make it as ugly as the competitions console.

If it's real, I'm pretty disappointed in the bolded. Still, I'd probably get one so I could take it with me on vacation, but my shiny 60gb is still primary.

Either way, I don't think the video on youtube is the real deal. Especially since it was found in some flea market.

These things turn up in the Phillipines all the time. If anything you lift it up and it probably plays bootlegs PS2 titles. Along with the Nintendostations and what not.
