Forums - Sony - If Activision pulls support on the PS3, how much will it affect the console

I think in terms of third-party titles, the PS3 would lose a lot of huge third-party franchises like Guitar Hero, Rock Band, including the new series DJ Hero, and a whole lot of other games. So this will hit the console very hard.

Especially the Call of Duty series!!!

That would be horrible.

It would affect it quite a lot.

But, more importantly, why did you outline Guitar Hero, Rockband and DJ Hero as losses apart from Call of Duty?

I have no idea but I'm sure it will never happen. Activision makes too much revenue to stop supporting the PS3.

Pixel Art can be fun.

Won't happen, but for the sake of argument, if it did it would mean a lot less shitty plastic peripherals for PS3 owners.

Rock Band is EA, btw.

Oh shoot LOL! I meant Call of Duty too!

Oh noes not DJ Hero!!

The biggest loss would be Call of Duty. That would become a 360 exclusive, which would hit the PS3 very hard, yes. Good thing, then, that Bobby Kotick was bluffing.

Think about this for a second. Is he REALLY going to cut support for a console that sold over 4 million copies of CoD4, over 3 million of World at War, and at least a million of pretty much every Guitar Hero?

It's not going to happen. It was never even a possibility.

can we let this die??? why are we wasting discussion on Activision

Activision would probably loose more cash than Sony would by pulling its big franchises out...

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

Was Activision really even serious when they said this?
