I now own all three consoles. Yay! I got it for a nice price: €230 for a 60GB version with Halo 3 and Halo Wars.

I've also got FarCry, Left4Dead, Viva Pinata 2 and Fable 2 with it, along with an extra controller. Viva Pinata and Fable 2 are my girlfriend's games though. We only got to play Halo and Fable today, but both look like quality games. Also downloaded a ton of demos. I can't believe how many demos there are available, whereas most PS3 games don't have a demo. I'm very satisfied so far!

I have a couple of questions though:

- does the 360 support the same file formats as the PS3? (ie. .avi, .mpeg, .png, etc)
- does the 360 have the same DVD upscaling capabilities as the PS3?
- how fast do the controllers deplete the batteries?

If you got any other tips for me, please tell me!

First off, congratulations!  Looks like you're pretty good on games for awhile there too, great choices!

As for your questions... not sure which ones it supports, but I'm sure they're listed on the official Xbox website or in the forums someplace.

The 360 does an OK job upscaling DVDs but I'm not sure if it is as good as the PS3 or most upscaling DVD players on the market.  I only used it to watch DVDs a couple of times and the colors seemed a bit washed out and the picture a bit grainy compared to when I watch movies on my Pioneer 1080p upconvert DVD player... however the 360 is great if you have a Netflix subscription, tons of movies to chose from and they stream in pretty good quality too.

As for the controllers, yeah, they deplete batteries pretty fast, 6-8 hours on average I'd say... I'd recommend getting the Play & Charge packs with the USB cable, you can usually find them for less than $20 on Amazon and they'll definitely save you money over the long run!

I'm not sure what file formats the 360 supports. As far as I know the 360 only converts DVD movies from 480i to 480p but I have a older version without the HDMI so I don't know about the newer models. As for batteries I would go with rechargeable batteries but I don't know if its as cheap an option as it is here in the US where you can get the batteries and chargers for dirt cheap (less then $10 for both if you go with off brand and even name brand can be bought for less then $20).

1. i think the 360 does just as good job on dvd's as the ps3.
2. it supports the same formats
3. get the charge station and not i repeat the play and charge kit ( its a waste of money i think ). also when u get the charge station u get a battery pack with it, and u can get extra packs cheap online, also the battery packs last about 4hs longer than a ps3 controller charge.
also not sure if u like anime or not, but it has a very nice library of it to watch. also if u like "ROBOTECH" series u can download all 85 episodes , plus the movie ( they are only on 360 and apple's store ).
