Forums - Sales - French hardwrare YTD data up to May 31/2009

mmm lack of wii games has rllly affected sales. I think a pricecut is imminent now whether WSR does well or not, cuz these numbers are depressing to watch

VGC were very close (except Wii)

Well done guys!

To be honest I think until March-April vgchartz others data is probably still ok.
What happened most likely is that starting mid April Wii sales started to dip heavilly in Others the way they have been in NA and due to the small sample Ioi relies on it's not impossible to miss such a dip...

What this means too most likely is that for the last 2 months VGchartz has been off a lot for Wii sales in Others instead of being off a little for the last 6 months...

Makes the Wii dip all the bigger..

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

Hey guys, what are doing with this thread?
Those are old informations and was already posted by me in the official thread for french hardware LTD numbers since 10 days.

http://www.vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=52214&page=9

The official thread is largely better than this thread because we give accurate LTD, table made BKK2.

So, made now the discussion in the official thread.

It's interesting that in those two charts that Nintendo didn't credit any of the charting services that they use (which they normally do).

So how high do you think are the chances that Nintendo presents inaccurate numbers during a results briefing? The only thing to wonder about is which countries exactly are included in these charts, but judging by the numbers it's reasonable to assume that at least the five big markets are (UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy), so these graphs paint a pretty good picture for general sales trends in Europe.

You have to admit that "Source: Nintendo" is not the norm.

What if the results are as bad as GFK stated? What if Nintendo is trying to hide those figures with some creative number crunching?

When have I said a "tracker is wrong"?

Looks like we're very close on all these figures apart from Wii which we have 100k or so higher and which will see an adjustment in next weeks figures to bring us more in line...

You just said it about GFK and I've read you talk the same way about NPD.

wow wii has been so overtracked on Vg Chartz recently

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

Well, considering both France and UK figures PS3 and X360 are still undertracked overall

Poor Wii, back to the 50m numbers, I'm afraid.

Either Nintendo or Sony, or both, need a pricecut now, console market is getting way too weak this year.

I am not saying GFK ChartTrack's data for the Uk is wrong, I said that the way in which the figures were being reported / discussed is wrong. I have just got back from holiday so am in the process of talking to CT about getting some clarification - when I have this it will be posted but anyone who thinks 360 has outsold DS in the last 5 months in the UK is delusional.

Also look at this chart Nintendo published at their annual results briefing:

It is very obvious that Wii sales are down from last year (75k for these European regions in week 17 vs 150k last year), Xbox360 up in the first 10 weeks and PS3 down but not by the amounts "suggested" in the ChartTrack LTD figures. Could be down to adjustments, heavy rounding, typos or whatever - we will find out soon enough but common sense tells me that 600k Xbox360 vs 400k DS vs 300k Wii isn't correct.

Also DS sales overall in Europe are almost flat vs last year with the DSi launch, so only selling 400k in the UK (with 92k DSi alone sold in the first week + 20k or so DSL) doesn't make much sense.

Come on to call people 'delusional' is a bit harsh, we just read the numbers but you make an excellent point. Only time will tell.

Nintendo doing worse has sure got to you hard.
